New World Record for Mykolas Alekna in the Discus Throws: Breaking the 35-Year Old Record at the Oklahoma Throws Series.

Mykolas Alekna from California achieves world record in discus throw

Mykolas Alekna, a discus thrower from California, set a new world record in the event at the Oklahoma Throws Series with a throw of 74.35 meters. This achievement broke the previous record held by Jürgen Schult, which was set in 1986. The Lithuanian athlete competed unattached at the series and had an impressive series of throws, with his record-breaking throw coming on his fifth attempt.

Alekna’s performance at the Oklahoma Throws Series further solidified his place in history as he has dominated the collegiate discus event for several years now. Most of the top 10 furthest throws in collegiate history are credited to him.
