New York City Small Businesses Thrive with BID Support and Government Investment – Celebrations Mark Milestones in Economic Growth

Business Improvement Districts Recognized for their Dedication in Supporting Small Businesses

Small businesses in New York City are being supported by business improvement districts (BIDs) and the government. On Monday, events were held in all five boroughs to celebrate their accomplishments. Commissioner Kevin Kim of the NYC Small Business Services spoke about the impact of the 75 BIDs covering 300 miles of commercial corridors and injecting $194 million into the economy annually. Mayor Eric Adams also announced nearly $7 million in investments for small businesses during the outreach events. These funds will help boost tourism and strengthen commercial corridors throughout the city, allowing businesses to thrive and contribute to economic growth. The upcoming New York City Small Business Expo on May 29 will provide a platform for hundreds of small businesses to network, showcase their products and services, and form new partnerships, with the goal of supporting their growth and success in the competitive business landscape of New York City.
