New York Jets Strengthen Defense with Trade for All-Pro Edge Rusher Haason Reddick

Jets acquire All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick in trade

The Jets have acquired All-Pro edge rusher Haason Reddick in a trade with the Eagles, filling a gap left by Bryce Huff’s departure. Reports indicate that the Jets are sending a conditional 2026 third-round pick to Philadelphia as part of the deal.

Reddick, who is 29 years old, will be joining the Jets for the final year of his contract, valued at $15.5 million. It is anticipated that he will receive a new contract from the Jets, although details have not been confirmed yet. The Jets are expected to take on $14.5 million of Reddick’s contract, with the Eagles footing a $1 million roster bonus that was due earlier this month.

The new addition to the Jets’ defense has achieved double-digit sacks in each of the last four seasons, including 11 sacks in the previous year. He has also accumulated 13 tackles for loss and 23 quarterback hits. With Reddick on board, the Jets are expected to improve their pass rush capabilities for the upcoming season.
