Newly Elected Harvard Business School Club of New York Executive Vice President Calvin Mew: Dedicated to Positive Change and Social Enterprise

Calvin Mew (HBS 1984) Elected as President of Harvard Business School Club of New York

Calvin Mew, a dedicated member of the Harvard Business School Club of New York (HBSCNY) for over twenty years, has been elected as its new Executive Vice President. Throughout his tenure, Mew has demonstrated his commitment to fostering positive change through various roles such as joining the Social Enterprise Board in 2005, Co-Chair of the Social Services Committee, and contributing to the Board Governance Committee.

In addition to his work with HBSCNY, Mew has worked with various clients including the Center Against Domestic Violence, National Council of Jewish Women, the Osborne Association, the Klingenstein Center at Columbia Teachers College, and Southampton Fresh Air Home. He also contributed his time to the HBSCNY Small Business Partnership Initiative. Mew expressed his intention to continue building upon Clare Peeters’s vision, passion, and commitment to the Club and its mission, acknowledging her as an exemplary leader.

Outside of HBSCNY, Mew is an independent management consultant who previously served as an Executive Vice President at Bozell Worldwide (Advertising), Inc., with the Chrysler Corporation as his primary client. He also holds positions as Treasurer of the Carnegie East House, director of the James Lenox House Association, Council member of the Yale Club of New York, and various other nonprofit board positions. Deborah Farrington, HBSCNY Board Chair, expressed excitement over Mew’s election as the new president, thanking Clare Peeters for her leadership over the past three years.

Mew’s education includes degrees from Harvard Business School and Yale University. He is also an occasional guest preacher at Norfield Congregational Church (Weston, CT) and Rowayton United Methodist Church (Norwalk
