NFL Prospect Matt Corral Leads Birmingham Stallions to Victory in First Game of UFL Season

Birmingham Stallions defeat Arlington Renegades in opening game of UFL season

Last season, Matt Corral was highly regarded as one of the top quarterback prospects for the NFL draft class. Today, he demonstrated his skills on the field by leading the Birmingham Stallions to a victory in the first game of the UFL season. The Stallions, who had won the USFL championship in 2023, defeated the XFL champions Arlington Renegades with a score of 27-14.

Corral, originally a third-round pick for the Carolina Panthers in 2022, put on an impressive performance during the game. He completed 12 out of 21 passes for 201 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. Additionally, Corral contributed 25 rushing yards on four carries to help secure the win for his team.

Arlington initially took a lead with a score of 11-3 at halftime, but Corral’s connection with receiver Deon Cain for a 39-yard touchdown pass shifted momentum in favor of Birmingham. The Stallions continued to build upon their lead in the second half and ultimately outplayed Arlington on their way to victory.

The Stallions amassed a total of 409 yards from scrimmage compared to Arlington’s 262 yards. In their next game, the Stallions will face off against Michigan Panthers while Arlington will go up against Battlehawks in St Louis next weekend.
