Pamplin College of Business Celebrates Diversity, Inclusion, and Leadership with the DEIB Excellence Award and DABS Recognition

Virginia Tech News: Pamplin College of Business Recognizes Students of Distinction from the Class of 2024

The DEIB Excellence Award is given to individuals whose contributions and services are assessed to be significant in promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within Pamplin. This year, the Diversity Excellence Award was presented to Management student Meena Zaheen, with an honorable mention for Andrea Amihere, also from the Management program.

In recognition of their leadership and dedication, Hudson Aikins from Management and Mariam Farzayee from Accounting and Information Systems were awarded the 2024 DABS President Recognition. The Deans Advisory Board of Students (DABS) is a Pamplin organization where a group of 20-25 students are selected to work with Dean Saonee Sarker to advise and represent the student body. The main objective of DABS is to create a more inclusive and supportive environment within Pamplin to ensure that all students can thrive.

Pamplin had nine First Honors Graduates in 2024 who achieved a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout their time at Virginia Tech. These include Rahul Bhatt (Management), Jonathan Braun (Finance and Real Estate), Anne Deegan (BIT and Management), Charli Dietz (ACIS), Alexandra Evan (BIT and Management), Rhea Nair (Management), Logan Rawlings (Finance), Dylan Recardo (Finance), and Samiksha Sarda (Management).

Pamplin’s Students of Distinction program aligns with Virginia Tech’s commitment to recognizing the exceptional accomplishments of its students.
