Patriots Sign Veteran Joey Slye to Boost Kicking Game

– Patriots secure deal with Joey Slye

Joey Slye, a veteran kicker who was recently released by the Jaguars, has quickly found a new home with the Patriots. The Patriots have agreed to sign Slye after drafting Cam Little in the sixth round earlier this week.

Slye had an impressive career with the Commanders and has also played for the 49ers, Texans, and Panthers. Throughout his career, he has made 121-of-147 field goals and 138-of-156 extra points. This experience will be valuable to the Patriots as they look to improve their kicking game.

The Patriots already have Chad Ryland on their roster, a 2023 fourth-round pick who had a decent rookie season. Ryland went 16-of-25 on field goals and 24-of-25 on extra points last year. With Slye joining the team, the Patriots will have two experienced kickers to choose from. This could lead to healthy competition and better performance from both players.
