Potential Science Boost for South-Central Kentucky: Kentucky Science Center Eyeing Expansion to Bowling Green

Kentucky Science Center Explores Opening Location in Bowling Green

In south-central Kentucky, there is a potential good news for science enthusiasts. The Kentucky Science Center is considering expanding its presence across the state and has reached out to Bowling Green with plans to establish roots in the area.

According to Telia Butler, Bowling Green’s downtown development coordinator, representatives from the Kentucky Science Center visited Warren County and will be returning later this month for further exploration of the town. In response to the interest from the KSC, the city and the center are asking residents to participate in a survey available on the city website and Downtown BGKY Facebook page to assess the community’s interests and needs.

This development is particularly exciting for Bowling Green, as the city currently lacks a science-based attraction. The closure of the Barren River Imagination Museum in 2020 left a void in the community, making the potential arrival of the Kentucky Science Center a welcome addition. Residents and officials alike are hopeful that this new venture will bring more opportunities for education and exploration to the area.
