Putin Condemns Islamist Attack on Concert Hall near Moscow, Calls for Thorough Investigation

Putin attributes Moscow attack to radical Islamists and questions motives.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that the recent attack on a concert hall near Moscow was carried out by radical Islamists. The attack resulted in at least 139 deaths. According to Putin, the crime was committed by individuals with radical Islamist ideologies that have been at odds with the Islamic world for centuries.

Despite acknowledging the involvement of radical Islamists, Putin expressed concern about who might benefit from such an event and called for a thorough investigation into the incident to determine its true motives. He linked the attack to previous confrontations with Russia by the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv since 2014.

The Russian Investigative Committee reported that four attackers arrived at the concert hall armed with AK-47 assault rifles and ammunition, and that they had planned the attack in advance. Several individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, including brothers and a father who allegedly provided support to the perpetrators. Those arrested have confessed to their roles in the attack, with some being sentenced to provisional arrest for terrorism.

Putin emphasized that uncovering the motives behind this act of terrorism is crucial in preventing future attacks from happening again. He reiterated his call for a thorough investigation into this incident and encouraged international cooperation to bring those responsible to justice.

The Russian people have shown unity and determination in combating such acts of terrorism, which highlights their resilience in the face of adversity.
