Rebuilding Baltimore: US SBA Establishes Recovery Centers to Aid Business Owners after Key Bridge Collapse.

New Small Business Recovery Centers Open to Assist After Bridge Collapse

After the collapse of Key Bridge in Baltimore, the U.S. Small Business Administration has established recovery centers in the area to aid business owners. These centers are open to help business owners submit disaster loan applications, present documents for ongoing applications, and receive updates on application statuses. Eligibility for aid extends to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small aquaculture businesses, and private nonprofit organizations.

Two recovery centers have been set up in Baltimore: the Carefirst Engagement Center at 1501 S. Clinton St, Ste #100 and the Dundalk Renaissance Center at 11 Center Place. The Carefirst Engagement Center is open from Monday to Friday between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with Sundays being closed days. The Baltimore City Mayor’s Office of Employment Development will be available at this location to offer additional support and connect businesses with resources. The Dundalk Renaissance Center operates during the same hours as the Carefirst Engagement Center, with representatives from the Baltimore County Department of Economic and Workforce present to provide support and connect businesses with resources.

The deadline for filing applications for aid is December 30, 2024.
