Recognizing Excellence: College of Public Health’s 2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony Celebrates Dedication and Service

Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony Honors Awardees at College of Public Health

The College of Public Health held its 2024 Faculty and Staff Awards Ceremony on April 19, celebrating the achievements of 20 faculty and staff members. These individuals were recognized for their excellence in teaching, research, leadership, and their commitment to advancing the institution’s mission and values.

Dean Melissa Perry opened the ceremony by commending all faculty and staff for their continuous excellence, acknowledging how their hard work has contributed to the College’s growth and success. She highlighted how their accomplishments have led to the College’s programs evolving and improving, as evidenced by recent rankings in U.S. News & World Report.

An ad hoc committee consisting of previous award winners determined the recipients of the awards. The committee reviewed nominations submitted by colleagues who recognized their colleagues’ contributions through department chairs before making official nominations. Nominees came from various departments across the college, including GCH, HAP, NUTR, SW, and Nursing as well as College-wide staff and those who received university-wide honors.

Executive Director of Finance and Administration Lisa Joyner and Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Affairs Cathy Tompkins presented the awards to each winner individually during the ceremony. They congratulated each recipient on their achievements in their respective categories while acknowledging their dedication to advancing the institution’s mission and values.

The complete list of award winners can be found on the CPH Faculty and Staff Award page. Congratulations to all faculty and staff award recipients for their well-deserved recognition!
