Record-breaking Pole Vault: Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis Clears New World Record

Duplantis breaks his own pole vault World Record once more at Xiamen Diamond League

Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis, the 24-year-old athlete from Sweden, made an impressive start to his outdoor season at the Xiamen Diamond League meeting by breaking his own pole vault world record. He cleared a height of 6.24 meters on his first attempt at the Egret Stadium, which is an improvement of just 1cm from his previous record set in Eugene last year.

Duplantis began the competition at 5.62m and effortlessly cleared heights of 5.82m and 6.00m before ultimately setting the new world record. This achievement marks his eighth world record in the pole vault discipline, cementing his status as one of the greatest athletes in this event.

Following Duplantis was American Sam Hendricks, who finished in second place with a best height of 5.82m, while Bokai Huang from China secured third place with a height of 5.72m. Despite their impressive performances, none could match Duplantis’s incredible skill and consistency on the track.
