Red Sox Injury Update: O’Neill Avoids Concussion in Collision with Devers, Pivetta Working to Return to Action

Red Sox receive positive update on Tyler O’Neill’s injury status

The Red Sox have received encouraging news regarding the injury of Tyler O’Neill, as he may not need to go on the injured list following his collision with Rafael Devers. Alex Cora, the manager, gave an update on O’Neill’s condition, stating that he avoided a concussion and received stitches above his left eye. Although O’Neill is expected to sit out the next two games, he hopes to return to the lineup on Thursday.

Devers was able to avoid injury and is in the lineup for Tuesday’s game despite the scary collision with O’Neill on Monday. O’Neill has been a standout player for the Red Sox this season, with impressive offensive numbers through the first 17 games. He is currently tied for the MLB lead in home runs with seven.

In other news, Nick Pivetta, the starting pitcher, is recovering from a flexor strain and has been playing catch for the past three days as he works his way back to full strength. The Red Sox will be looking to bounce back from a loss in Game 1 of their series against Cleveland as they continue their four-game set.
