Agtech By Design, an Australian company with a mission to revolutionize weed management in agriculture, is set to release two new green on spot spraying technologies. The first of these technologies, WeedSelector, can identify all types of weeds and is designed for use in tree crops and vines. This cost-effective solution offers an alternative to industry standards that are often expensive and harmful to the environment.
The second technology, SpeciesSelect, can pinpoint individual species of weed and is also designed for use in tree crops and vines. Both technologies are expected to transform the way farmers manage weeds in their crops.
Founded in 2020 by Ben Pankhurst and Zane Sheffield, Agtech By Design is focused on developing innovative solutions for weed management. Zane Sheffield, who grew up on a vineyard and farm in Riverland, South Australia, has spent the past three years working on the WeedSelector technology. He expects the technology to revolutionize weed management practices in agriculture by allowing farmers to target weeds more accurately and reduce the amount of herbicide used.
