Phoenix Science Center Unveils Exciting New Program

Arizona Science Center has just introduced a new series called Spotlight on Science for adults. This series aims to bring in experts from different scientific fields to discuss topics that affect millions of people. The first event in this series will focus on “Breakthroughs in Blood Biomarkers – Revolutionizing Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis.” Nick Ashton, Ph.D., an expert in Alzheimer’s disease, will be the featured speaker.

The inaugural event will take place at the Science Center located downtown at 600 E. Washington St. On Tuesday, May 14, at 7 p.m., Ashton, senior director of the Banner Research Biomarker Program, will explore the possibility of using a blood test to detect Alzheimer’s disease. He will discuss his work in developing, validating, and utilizing fluid biomarkers like cerebrospinal fluid and blood tests in the fight against Alzheimer’s and related disorders.
