Revolutionizing Battery Recycling: Call2Recycle Canada Partners with EDI for Cutting-Edge Technology

Call2Recycle Canada collaborates with EDI to introduce innovative battery sorting technology.

In a major move to enhance Ontario’s battery recycling capacity, Call2Recycle Canada has partnered with Electronic Distributors International Inc (EDI) to introduce a new battery sorting technology. This cutting-edge partnership is set to significantly increase the region’s ability to sort and recycle end-of-life batteries, while also supporting Call2Recycle’s commitment to investing in competitive battery recycling infrastructure.

The state-of-the-art equipment, which is located at EDI’s facility in Orillia, Ontario, is one of only four of its kind worldwide. With this new addition, the plant will double its capacity to sort used batteries, allowing for larger volumes to be processed and recycled.

Norm Yorke, managing partner at EDI, shares his excitement about the partnership and the opportunity to pioneer technology-driven battery sorting in North America. He emphasizes EDI’s dedication to modernizing the recycling industry and investing in solutions that align with partners’ sustainability needs.

Call2Recycle Canada President Joe Zenobio commends EDI for its forward-thinking approach to recycling and innovation. He highlights the importance of collaborations like this in increasing Ontario’s battery recycling infrastructure, improving efficiency, reducing environmental impact and supporting the local economy.

This partnership between Call2Recycle and EDI represents a significant step forward in advancing responsible battery recycling practices in Ontario and beyond.
