Revolutionizing Business Efficiency with Amazon Q Business and Amazon Q Apps: A Game Changer in Organizational Knowledge Management

Introducing Amazon Q Business and Amazon Q Apps (Preview) – Now Available for General Use

Amazon Q Business, a new capability from AWS, is now available for general use. It revolutionizes how employees interact with organizational knowledge and enterprise systems by providing comprehensive answers to complex questions in a unified, intuitive web-based chat experience. This is made possible by leveraging an enterprise’s existing content, data, and systems. Amazon Q Business seamlessly connects to over 40 popular enterprise systems such as Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Microsoft 365, and Salesforce. It ensures secure access to content using single sign-on, existing credentials, and enterprise-level access controls based on user permissions.

In addition to Amazon Q Business, AWS has also introduced Amazon Q Apps. This new feature allows organizational users to easily create apps from their conversations with Amazon Q Business or by describing the app they want to build in natural language. With Amazon Q Apps, users can build, share, and customize apps on enterprise data to streamline tasks and improve individual and team productivity. Apps can be published to an admin-managed library and shared with coworkers, inheriting user permissions, access controls, and enterprise guardrails from Amazon Q Business for secure sharing and adherence to data governance policies.

To further enhance the capabilities of Amazon Q Business, AWS is also introducing custom plugins that allow admins to connect third-party applications with Amazon Q Business. This enables employees to perform actions like submitting time-off requests and sending meeting invites through natural language prompts within the Amazon Q Business platform. Users can also search real-time data such as employee time-off balances and scheduled meetings.

Both Amazon Q Business and Amazon Q Apps are currently available in the US East (N. Virginia) and US West (Oregon) AWS Regions.
