Revolutionizing Dispatch: How Live911 is Transforming Response Times for Hernando County Sheriff’s Office Deputies

Technology aids Hernando deputies in quicker call response

For the past year, the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has been utilizing a new technology called Live911. This technology has been making a significant difference in how quickly their deputies respond to scenes. With Live911, deputies can listen to dispatch calls while in their patrol cars, saving crucial minutes for them.

Sheriff Al Nienhuis initially introduced Live911 to only a few deputies but has since expanded it to include all of them. When a call is received by a dispatcher, the deputies can hear the call details in real-time, providing them with crucial information about the situation they are responding to.

Deputy Juan Moore is one of the many deputies who have been using Live911. On April 3rd, he received a call from a man at a gas station in Ridge Manor reporting fuel theft from an underground tank. Moore was nearby and quickly headed towards the gas station thanks to Live911. Thanks to this technology, he arrived faster at the scene than he would have without access to it.

Moore emphasized that Live911 not only helps in improving response times but also allows deputies to hear the emotions in people’s voices when they call for help. This aspect of the technology is particularly important as it provides valuable context for the deputies responding to emergencies.

Overall, Live911 has proven to be an incredibly useful tool for the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office and its deputies. The technology has helped save time and improve communication between dispatchers and officers on the field, ultimately leading to quicker response times and better emergency services for residents of Hernando County.
