Mt Monger Resources Ltd. (AU:MTM) has recently provided an update on their latest developments. The company’s subsidiary, MTM Critical Metals Ltd., has introduced a prototype of their Flash Joule Heating (FJH) technology, which has demonstrated significant improvements in recovering rare earth elements and critical metals from coal fly ash. The prototype has shown increases in recovery rates ranging from 50% to 514% compared to traditional acid leach methods.
This advancement, which has been scaled up 50 times from its initial proof of concept, aims to reduce acid use and waste in the leaching process. The company intends to expand testing to other metal-rich waste sources, hoping to improve the economic feasibility of this environmentally friendly technology.
