Rice Business Embraces Growth with Groundbreaking for New Building

Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business is about to host a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 112,000-square-foot building that will cater to the school’s growth and the changing needs of the community. The new building will feature modern classrooms, office spaces, dining areas, open gathering spaces, and facilities for private events. It will be seamlessly integrated with McNair Hall, the current home of Rice Business, enhancing the campus environment and fostering a collaborative culture.

In the last five years, Rice Business has experienced significant growth in its undergraduate business major, with a 50% increase in MBA students and a 41% growth in faculty. Additionally, there has been an increased cohort in the full-time MBA program, MBA@Rice and hybrid MBA programs. This expansion reflects the school’s commitment to providing top-notch education to its students and meeting the evolving demands of the business world.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the new Rice Business building is scheduled for Thursday, May 9 from 3-5 p.m., with the actual groundbreaking taking place around 3:50 p.m. The event will be held at Woodson Courtyard at Rice’s McNair Hall and complimentary self-parking will be available in Central Garage.
