Rocket Launch Cancelled Due to Automatic System Activation: An Unprecedented Event in Russian Manned Space Flight History

Russian Soyuz Rocket Launch Aborted 20 Seconds Before Liftoff

Russian historian Alexander Zheleznyakov, an expert in the Russian space program, stated that the cancellation of a rocket launch due to the automatic system being triggered is unprecedented in the history of Russian manned space flights. He mentioned that it is rare for a cancellation order to be given so close to takeoff and after the countdown had begun. Zheleznyakov recalled past instances where launches were canceled for various reasons, but never right after the five-minute launch deadline had passed.

NASA spokesman Rob Nevias assured that the vehicle is safe and all refueling missions have been halted following the cancellation of the rocket launch. The next launch window for the rocket will be this Saturday. It was reported that an automatic command was activated to stop the takeoff when the clock reached 20 seconds, after two pillars connected to the rocket had been released. NASA confirmed that this was due to the rocket’s engines not being activated at the scheduled time, which prompted the automatic system to give orders.
