Running and Building Lifelong Friendships: The Mercer Health 5K Challenge Series Turns 20

Mercer Health 5K Challenge Series: Two Decades of Uniting Community Through Every Stride

In the past 20 years, the Mercer Health 5K Challenge series has been a constant presence in Mercer County, offering people of all ages the opportunity to push themselves physically and form lasting friendships. The upcoming year promises to be even more exciting as participants aged 14 and under can enjoy FREE entry to all seven MH5K events.

In addition to individual 5K shirts, bundle registration is also available for those who want to sign up for all seven events at a discounted price of $90. This gives them the chance to enter all seven races for the price of six. Online registration is now open for both bundle and individual 5K races.

To make this year’s events even more engaging, each 5K will have a specific theme. These include Zuma Days – Hawaiian/Luau, Country Fest – Pool Party, Redskin Classic – Patriotic, Shanes Crossing – Christmas in July, St. Clair – Neon Florescent, Lake Festival – Super Heroes, and Buzzard’s Glory – The Olympics.

Participants can register online for these events to receive text notifications of their finish times and ensure accurate data entry. In-person registration is also available on race day. By participating in at least five of the seven Challenge events, participants can earn a Mercer Health 5K Challenge running tech shirt and be eligible for year-end age group awards.

Whether you’re an experienced runner or someone looking to get more active, this Challenge series welcomes everyone with open arms. Parents are particularly encouraged to take advantage of the “Kids 14 and under running for free” promotion and motivate their children to join in on the fun. Register before June 15th by pre-registering online and take advantage of the discounted price by signing up for all seven events at once with bundle registration.
