According to a report by Russian state agency Interfax, the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation was able to prevent a terrorist attack in one of Moscow’s synagogues during a moment of mass gathering. The FSB announced that it had detained a suspect who had planned to carry out the attack and was neutralized by return fire. The suspect, described as a “native of one of the Central Asian countries,” had established contact with individuals involved in terrorist activities while serving a prison sentence in his home country for a criminal offense. After his release in November 2023, he came to Russia and began preparing to commit a terrorist act.
