Science, Math and Engineering Extravaganza at Malverne High School Sparks Interest in STEM Learning

Malverne Students Come Together to Celebrate Science at STEM Night hosted by Herald Community Newspapers

On March 25, Malverne High School invited families with students ranging from kindergarten to high school to an exciting evening centered around hands-on science, math, and engineering activities. The goal of this event was to spark an interest in STEM learning, a teaching approach that integrates science, technology, engineering, and math to foster creative design, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

The event featured a wide range of activities for attendees to participate in. These included chemistry experiments, biology studies, physical science demonstrations as well as math games and science-themed crafts. Additionally, students got the chance to explore robotics and even ride on a student-made hovercraft. To top it all off, attendees were able to indulge in ice cream made on site using liquid nitrogen.

What made the event truly special was the involvement of high school students who volunteered their time to assist with the activities and share their knowledge and experiences with the younger attendees. This interaction between students of different grade levels not only added depth to the learning experience but also served as a source of inspiration for future generations of STEM enthusiasts. Overall it was a fun-filled evening that left everyone excited about STEM learning!
