Senator Capito Secures Millions in Federal Funding for West Virginia: Health, Economic Development, and Infrastructure Projects Receive Boost

$1.79M grant awarded to Scott Depot health center

Recently, U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia announced resources from various federal agencies to support projects in the state. These resources are intended to enhance health services, economic development, infrastructure, academic and defense research, park improvement efforts, and energy projects.

Among the grants mentioned is $1,799,114 in Health and Human Services Health Center Cluster funding for WomenCare, Inc., located in Scott Depot. In addition to this grant, other area agencies received HHS funding as well: Southwestern Community Action Council, Inc., received $8,465,926 in HHS Head Start funding; Valley Health Systems received $7,678,870 in HHS Health Center Cluster funding; and the West Virginia Department of Health and Humans Resources received $1,229,006 in HHS Centers for Disease and Prevention National Center for Chronic Diseases Prevention and Health funding.
