SGMC Health presents Tomlin with prestigious BEE Award

SGMC Health recently recognized Latrelle Tomlin, a Certified Nurse Assistant, with the April Being Extraordinary Every day (BEE) Award. Tomlin, who works at Hospice of South Georgia and Langdale Hospice House, was honored for her positive attitude and teamwork. She has been a part of the health system for over 4 years and is known for stepping up to cover weekend shifts when her coworkers need assistance.

SGMC Health participates in various recognition programs to honor employees who embody the organization’s tagline, “Remarkable People, Extraordinary Care, Human Kindness.” The BEE Award is a monthly recognition program that acknowledges staff members who support the role of a nurse, including patient care technicians, nursing assistants, and medical assistants. Nomination criteria include qualities such as compassion, teamwork, leadership, attitude, and skills and knowledge.

Emily Hydrick, Nurse Manager at Hospice of South Georgia praised Tomlin for her flexibility with new processes and her dedication to patient care. “Latrelle’s positive attitude and willingness to step up when needed have made a significant impact on our team,” said Hydrick. Her colleagues have also recognized her efforts in providing compassionate care to patients and families during difficult times.
