Shifting Military Presence in Gaza: Israel Withdraws Troops and Britain Launches Aid Initiative Amid Continued Conflict

Israel announces complete withdrawal of troops from southern Gaza Strip.

Gaza remains a hotly contested region, with Israel withdrawing its troops from the southern Gaza Strip. This move marks a significant shift in military presence in the area and leaves only one Israeli brigade behind to secure a corridor between southern Israel and the Gaza coast, block passage to the north of the strip, and facilitate operations in the center and north of the territory.

As of April 7, six months into the conflict, over 33,100 people have been killed in Gaza, including 9,560 women and 14,500 children. Israel claims that around 13,000 of these deaths are militants, while Hamas disputes this figure.

In response to the ongoing crisis in Gaza, the British government has announced a military and civil support package to establish a maritime aid corridor for the region. The initiative includes deploying a ship from the Royal Navy to support establishing an international humanitarian corridor from Cyprus to Gaza with other governments and UN support.

Despite ongoing efforts by international partners to provide aid and support to the people of Gaza amidst ongoing conflict in the region.
