Softball and baseball results from high school games have been reported by coaches or their representatives. Coaches are requested to send nightly results to prepsports@enquirer.com, while nominations for Team or Athlete of the Week should be submitted by Monday morning for performances from the previous week to mlaughman@enquirer.com.
On April 8, Mount Notre Dame defeated St. Ursula 13-2 in six innings, with Gildea getting the win for Mount Notre Dame and Basil taking the loss for St. Ursula. Notable performances included Hull going 3-4 with a double and three RBIs for Mount Notre Dame, and Cosgray going 2-3 with a double for St. Ursula.
In another softball game, Oak Hills beat Sycamore 9-5, with Szabo recording the win for Oak Hills and striking out eight batters. Notable performances included Abbott with a home run and three runs scored for Oak Hills, and Emmrich with a double and home run.
Other softball results included Seton defeating Ursuline Academy 14-3, Badin beating Fenwick 11-1 in six innings, Bracken County defeating Campbell County 10-5, Notre Dame shutting out Holmes 17-0 in three innings, Rowan County beating Dixie Heights 9-4, Villa Madonna beating Ludlow 12-0 in five innings, Williamstown defeated Bellevue 9-1
