Sports Stars Decline Invitation to Netflix Reality Show: Inside the Production Struggles and Travis Kelce’s Decision

Travis Kelce Chooses Not to Play Receiver

After the success of Quarterback on Netflix last year, the producers of the show struggled to find enough quarterbacks for season two. Instead of focusing on quarterbacks, they decided to feature players in a new position – Receiver. However, one notable pass-catching tight end, Travis Kelce, was invited to be part of the show but declined.

During an appearance on the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast, Kelce mentioned that he turned down the opportunity to be on Receiver. He explained that he preferred to focus on playing football and already had commitments like his podcast, indicating that he was not interested in reality television.

The players who will be featured on Receiver include Justin Jefferson of the Vikings, Davante Adams of the Raiders, Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Lions, and Deebo Samuel and George Kittle of the 49ers. If Kelce had participated, the dynamic of the show might have been different, possibly making him the focal point similar to Bruce Springsteen with the rest of the players acting as his supporting cast. Unfortunately for fans of Kelce’s performance in reality TV shows, he will not be part of this new season. Receiver is set to debut on July 12 without him as one of its subjects.
