Netanyahu acknowledges accidental bombing by Israel resulted in deaths of seven Jos Andrs NGO workers

On Tuesday, Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, acknowledged that the Israeli Army inadvertently killed seven humanitarian workers from the NGO World Central Kitchen (WCK) in Gaza. Netanyahu expressed his deepest regret for the tragic event and pledged to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that such incidents do not occur again.

The IDF announced that an independent military entity, the Fact Investigation and Assessment Mechanism, will investigate the attack that led WCK to suspend its operations in Gaza. The IDF spokesperson, Daniel Hagari, conveyed condolences to chef Jos Andrés, founder of WCK, for the deaths of his team members.

The incident was a devastating blow during the ongoing conflict in Gaza as it resulted in the loss of seven lives. Jos Andrés called on Israel’s government to stop indiscriminate killing and allow humanitarian aid to reach those who need it without obstruction.

World Central Kitchen has suspended its operations in Gaza as they contemplate their future work in the region. The WCK convoy was hit while traveling through a non-conflict area despite coordinating their movements with the IDF.
