Unbelievable event at B.L. Miller Elementary gymnasium | News, Sports, Jobs

Recently, families of Sebring students gathered at B.L. Miller Elementary gymnasium for an unforgettable experience inside the mobile planetarium “Sky Dome”. Following the solar eclipse on April 8, over 200 attendees took part in guided tours of the universe, presented by Mobile Ed Productions. The event was made possible through the sponsorship of United Way’s Success After 6 program.

During the 45-minute guided tours, participants explored the sun, moon, stars and the universe from the comfort of the gym. Jill Dennis, family engagement coordinator for Sebring Local Schools and Success After 6 coordinator, expressed gratitude for the collaborative effort that made the event a success. Partners In Education (P.I.E.) provided food for purchase, with funds raised going toward future activities for Sebring students.

In between tour sessions, families enjoyed playing bingo and winners received Oh WOW! STEM Sak bundles. One lucky student even won a National Geographic 70m Sky View Telescope as a grand prize, provided by SA6. Mobile Ed Productions specializes in live, educational entertainment assemblies and workshops for students of all ages.

Overall, the event was a fun and educational experience for Sebring students and their families that sparked curiosity and interest in space exploration.
