Tennis tournament honors moms as golf enthusiasts make history in Parkersburg

The Thursday Evening Women’s City Park Tennis League is hosting a Mother’s Day Doubles Tournament on Saturday, May 11 at 9 a.m. The tournament will take place at Parkersburg City Park and the goal is to finish by 2 p.m. There will be two or three divisions based on the number and skill level of players participating. Players will be matched up against others of similar skill levels. Participants can play with family members or adopt a partner for the tournament. The entry fee is $15 per team, covering balls and lunch. To enter, make checks payable to Thursday Evening Women’s Tennis League by May 9. In golf news, Brian Boston from Washington scored a hole-in-one on Friday at Oxbow Golf Course. Boston used a 6-iron to ace the 121-yard, par-3, No. 13 hole. His accomplishment was witnessed by Bryan Barrett.
