The 2024 Forbes Billionaires List: Young Heirs Taking Over the Billionaire Ranks

Livia Voigt, 19-Year-Old Student, Becomes the World’s Youngest Billionaire with an Impressive Net Worth

The 2024 Forbes Billionaires List has seen an influx of young heirs who have recently joined the billionaire ranks. This year, the list is dominated by youth, with the 25 youngest billionaires all aged 33 or younger, collectively holding $110 billion. One of these young billionaires is Livia Voigt, a 19-year-old Brazilian student who has claimed the title of the world’s youngest billionaire.

Livia Voigt’s wealth comes from being one of the largest individual shareholders of WEG, the largest manufacturer of electrical motors in Latin America. Co-founded by her grandfather, Werner Ricardo Voigt, alongside late billionaires Eggon Joao da Silva and Geraldo Werninghaus, WEG is a multinational corporation with factories in over 10 countries. Despite currently attending university in Brazil and not holding a seat on the board or an executive position at WEG, Livia Voigt is a part of the company’s legacy. Her older sister, Dora Voigt de Assis, also made it to the list.

Alongside Livia Voigt are two Irish brothers named Shivakumar Mistry and Prashant Mistry who inherited sizable fortunes from Tata Sons after their father’s death in 2022. Each brother holds an estimated net worth of $4.9 billion and are among the seven new faces on the youngest billionaire list for 2024. As more young people inherit wealth and join the ranks of billionaires, this trend is expected to continue in future years to come.
