Peter Cat Recording Co. Reveals Upcoming Album ‘Beta’ and International Tour Dates

Peter Cat Recording Co. is set to release their highly anticipated album, “Beta,” on August 9th through Muddy Water. The band will be dropping their first single on May 16th, followed by a headlining tour beginning in August. Tickets for the tour dates will go on sale on May 16th at 10 a.m. local time.

The band teased their upcoming album with an Instagram video featuring elephants eating an edible arrangement with the album’s title spelled out in watermelon slices. Describing “Beta” as a collection of stories about the future told from 50 years ago to make sense of the present, Peter Cat Recording Co. expressed their excitement for the release, which follows their previous album, “Bismillah,” from 2019.

According to a press release, “Beta” was chosen as the album title out of five options by drummer Karan Singh’s six-month-old son. Produced by Suryakant Sawhney, Kartik Pillai, and Dhruv Bhola, the album promises a mix of indie, bossa nova, jazz, psychedelic, and more genres, influenced by crooner music. Sawhney discussed the emotional and masculine aspects of crooner music and the influence it had on him as a younger artist.
