Nine Pan American Teams Qualify for Paris in the World Relay World Cup: A Global Balance

The Bahamas hosted the 2024 World Relay Championship over the weekend, securing their own qualification for Paris 2024. The competition featured music, rhythm, and Caribbean traditions, with Team USA emerging as the main protagonist.

Team USA put on a stellar performance, securing qualification in the 4x100m for both women and men, as well as the 4×400 mixed relay and 4×400 for women. Canada also made significant gains, qualifying in the men’s and women’s 4x100m and 4x400m events.

In addition to these teams, nine Pan American countries secured their spots in the upcoming Paris World Relay World Cup. The United States was the standout performer of the weekend, with four of their teams qualifying for the Olympic Games. Canada and the Dominican Republic also earned tickets to Paris during the event held in the Bahamas.

The Dominican Republic, as the last Panam Sports country to secure a quota for Paris, qualified through their world champion and Olympic medalist 4x400m mixed relay team. Thanks to the efforts of Team Panam Sports ambassador Marileidy Paulino, who led her team to a second-place finish in the final relay, the Caribbean nation secured their spot in Paris.

The overall winner of the competition was Team USA, setting a new championship record with a time of 3:10.73. The teams classified for Paris 2024 in different competitions include Australia, Canada, France, Germany
