Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has recently launched the nation’s first PhD program in Financial Technology (FinTech), expanding its existing master’s and bachelor’s degree offerings. With this addition, WPI solidifies its position as the only university in the United States offering all degree levels in this field.
The financial services industry has undergone significant changes in recent years, with the increasing popularity of online payment services, mobile banking, and cryptocurrencies. As a result, FinTech has emerged as one of the fastest-growing industries globally, with projections indicating a demand for 1.5 million new roles and lucrative salaries in the tech sector.
