The Quest for Four Gold Medals: Noah Lyles and the Race to Paris 2024

The Speed is Only Increasing

Noah Lyles is determined to make history at the Paris 2024 Olympics by winning four gold medals. He recently made his international debut in the 4x400m relay at the Indoor World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, where his team came in second to the Belgians by a mere 0.06 seconds. Now, Lyles is focusing on his sprinting roots by returning to the 100m event in the Bahamas.

To achieve his goal of four gold medals in Paris, Lyles will have to navigate a demanding schedule that includes the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, as well as the 100m and 200m sprints. This feat has never been accomplished in track and field, not even by legendary sprinter Usain Bolt. While athletes like Carl Lewis and Jesse Owens have won four gold medals in a single Olympics, their events included the long jump, unlike Lyles’ sprint-focused events.

In a recent interview with Reuters, Lyles expressed his determination to prove that his goal is not just for show. Despite facing tough competition in the 4x400m relay in Glasgow, Lyles was the fastest of his team’s third leg runners. With a time of 45.68 seconds, he demonstrated his commitment to achieving his quadruple gold medal mission in Paris.
