Briton Becomes World’s Oldest Man at 111, Shares the Secret to His Longevity Following Guinness World Records

John Tinniswood, who has just inherited the title of the world’s oldest living man at 111 years old, was born in Merseyside, northern England in 1912. Despite his remarkable age, Tinniswood claims there is no secret to his longevity other than luck. His favorite food is fish and chips, which he enjoys every Friday. Guinness World Records confirmed Tinniswood’s status as the oldest living man after experts from the organization and the Gerontology Research Group assessed his age. The current oldest living person is Maria Branyas Morera of Spain, who is 117 years old. When asked about the state of the world, Tinniswood offered a measured response, noting that things are improving slowly but still have a long way to go. He believes that progress is being made at a gradual pace and that life and longevity are simple: “You either live long or you live short, and you can’t do much about it.”
