Protests supporting Palestine break out at NYU’s Stern School of Business

NYU students gathered in support of Palestinians and held a rally on campus. The protest saw hundreds of participants, with many setting up tents in Gould Plaza near the Stern School of Business. However, police intervened, removing the tents and arresting dozens of demonstrators. Afterward, protesters relocated to West 3rd Street in Greenwich Village and marched in the area.

Throughout the day, various pro-Palestinian organizations joined the protest and emphasized their demands for acknowledgement of the ongoing genocide against Palestinians. NYU officials cited disruptive behavior as grounds for intervention, but protesters remained steadfast in their grievances. Despite being ordered to clear the plaza area by 4 p.m., participants continued to voice their opinions and attracted supporters from beyond the student body.

Meanwhile, across the street from the main event, a group stood waving Israeli flags. When asked for comment, one member stated that they believed they were on “the right side of history.” The presence of opposing viewpoints added to the tense atmosphere surrounding the event, highlighting the contentious nature of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
