Top gymnasts Simone Biles, Suni Lee, and Gabby Douglas set to compete at Core Hydration Classic

Simone Biles, Suni Lee, and Gabby Douglas are set to compete at the upcoming Core Hydration Classic, making history as the first gymnastics meet to feature three Olympic all-around gold medalists. The event marks the beginning of the lead-up to next month’s Olympic Gymnastics Trials and will be aired live from Hartford, Connecticut on CNBC and Peacock on May 18 from 7-9 p.m. ET. Viewers can also catch the event streaming on NBCSports.com and the NBC Sports app for CNBC subscribers.

Following the Core Hydration Classic, gymnastics fans can look forward to the Xfinity U.S. Championships taking place from May 30 to June 2 in Fort Worth, Texas, and the Olympic Trials scheduled from June 27-30 in Minneapolis. The winner of the Olympic Trials all-around automatically secures a spot on the five-woman Olympic team for the Paris Games, with the rest of the team being selected by a committee based on results from domestic and international competitions dating back to September of last year, including the Core Hydration Classic.

Simone Biles, who won gold at both world championships in 2015 and 2019 as well as an Olympic bronze medal in beam in 2016, is expected to make her 2024 competition debut at this meet. Suni Lee has already competed in two events this year after overcoming two different kidney diseases diagnosed in early 2023. Gabby Douglas has recently returned to competition at April’s American Classic after taking time off after competing at her final Olympics Games in Rio de Janeiro in 2016. Each athlete has faced their own unique challenges and obstacles on their journey back to competitive gymnastics while showcasing their determination and resilience through their performances at this meet
