TikTok Lite Launches in Spain: Will Financial Incentives Boost Its Popularity Among Older Users?

TikTok introduces Lite in Spain: A new app that rewards users for watching videos

TikTok has recently introduced a new version of its app in Spain called TikTok Lite. This version of the app offers financial incentives to users for watching videos, with the aim of increasing its popularity among older users. Currently available in France, Japan, and Korea, TikTok Lite is currently in the testing phase and plans to activate incentives in these countries soon.

The Coin App, internally referred to as the new application, provides points that can be exchanged for tips for favorite creators or gift certificates from services like Amazon or Paypal. TikTok Lite is not available to users under 18 years of age and is designed to consume less data, making it more accessible for users in markets with limited internet connectivity.

TikTok Lite is essentially a lighter version of the traditional TikTok app, with minimal differences in appearance and functionality. Users will see the same content on both apps, with Lite focusing on improving platform usage data and user engagement. In Spain, the Lite version will not support live streaming or ads, further reducing data consumption for users.

By launching TikTok Lite with financial incentives for users, the company hopes to attract a wider audience and grow its user base among older demographics. Despite its popularity in other countries like Germany and Italy, TikTok has struggled to maintain top rankings in download charts in Europe. With this new version of the app, TikTok hopes to regain lost ground and establish itself as a leading social media platform in Europe once again.
