On April 20, a pregnant woman walking down the street in the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka in the Shebekinsky urban district was seriously wounded by a shell fragment during an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The woman lost both her life and that of her unborn child. Three other residents were also injured but refused hospitalization. In addition to the human casualties, several private households and two cars were damaged as a result of the attack.
Novaya Tavolzhanka, located just three kilometers from the border between Russia and Ukraine, has been consistently targeted by shelling attacks. The head of the Belgorod region regularly reports on these incidents to bring attention to the ongoing violence and its impact on local residents.
