Transforming Vacant Big-Box Stores: 20 Creative Solutions for Repurposing Retail Spaces

By the end of 2024, technology upgrades will be implemented at St. Cloud Sam’s Club.

Sam’s Club has recently introduced a new technology called AI receipt verification to make shopping more convenient and efficient. This new feature aims to streamline the checkout process and eliminate the need for a team member to check your receipt as you leave the store. The Scan and Go feature, already available at Sam’s Club, differentiates it from competitors like Costco.

The rollout of AI receipt verification began a few months ago and has been implemented in approximately 120 Sam’s Club locations across the United States, or about 20% of the stores. The technology uses a combination of computer vision and digital technology at the store exit to verify payment and ensure a smooth checkout process. The system is continuously learning and improving thanks to its AI capabilities.

While most of the stores with AI receipt verification are located in Southern States where it was tested and proven successful, Sam’s Club plans to extend this technology to all its locations by the end of the year. Customers who use the Scan and Go feature will not be affected by this change.
