Tulsa Health Agencies Unite to Tackle Health Inequities for Minority Communities: ‘Blood at The Roots’ Conference to Educate and Empower Attendees

Health Agencies in Tulsa collaborate to enhance health equity in Oklahoma

In an effort to combat health inequities faced by minority groups in Oklahoma, two Tulsa health agencies, the Tulsa Health Department and Be Well Community Development Corporation, have joined forces. Reggie Ivey, representing both organizations, stated that their primary goal is to identify the barriers that prevent health equity and address them head-on.

Ivey and his team will be hosting the “Blood at The Roots: Issues of Health Equity Conference” on April 11 and 12 at OSU Tulsa. The conference aims to educate attendees on how they can take action to combat health inequities in their communities. They will learn about ways to make a difference in their neighborhoods, workplaces, and personally, such as registering to vote, voting, and contacting political officials to advocate for change.

Before the conference begins, there will be a free program on collective trauma and leadership on April 10 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Langston University in Tulsa. All other conference programs require registration. To learn more about the program and how to register, visit the provided link.
