UC Health Leads the Way in Climate Resilience Planning with Release of Report

Progress Report Released by UC Health on Climate Pledge Commitments

The Health Sector Climate Pledge is a global necessity to protect the health and well-being of all individuals. As such, climate action is crucial for health care providers now more than ever. This is not just a response to environmental challenges but a way to ensure that our communities can withstand the impacts of climate change.

The University of California Health (UC Health) is one such organization that has taken up the challenge of addressing climate resilience. They are committed to providing exceptional clinical care, educating future health professionals, and conducting research to enhance the health and quality of life for Californians. UC Health has also joined forces with over 130 organizations and 900 hospitals as part of the Health Sector Climate Pledge to develop comprehensive and equitable climate resilience plans across the system.

To show progress in fulfilling this pledge, UC Health has released a report detailing the advancements made by individual Health Centers and outlining the next steps in their resilience planning journey. This report reflects their collaborative approach to addressing climate resilience challenges.

Congratulations to UC Health colleagues and student fellow contributors for their significant role in advancing climate resilience for UC health centers and their communities. Their work demonstrates that even in these challenging times, we must continue to work together towards a better future for all.
