UK Prime Minister Condemns Hamas Attacks on Israel and Calls for Immediate Ceasefire

World News: Four Israeli soldiers killed in Israel-Gaza conflict on six-month anniversary of 7 October attacks

Rishi Sunak, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, has condemned the recent attacks on Israel by Hamas. In a statement marking the six-month anniversary of the conflict, he reaffirmed the UK’s support for Israel’s right to defend its security. While emphasizing the need for aid to reach Gaza more quickly, Sunak also expressed concern over the tragic deaths of three British aid workers in an IDF air strike.

The prime minister acknowledged the toll that violence has taken on Palestinian civilians and called for a ceasefire to halt the fighting. He condemned the attack on an aid convoy that resulted in the deaths of John Chapman, James Henderson, and James Kirby, calling it “the most appalling act in Israel’s history.”

Sunak emphasized that while his government stands in solidarity with Israel, it continues to advocate for peace and humanitarian assistance to those affected by the violence. He urged Hamas to release captives and work towards a sustainable ceasefire that would bring an end to the conflict once and for all.
