Dallas County residents celebrated World Health Day on April 4, as the West Central Baptist Association marked its third consecutive year of hosting the event. The organization distributed over 1,000 gift bags to individuals in need, each containing assorted food items and biblical scriptures.

The Women’s Missionary Union, Epsilon Sigma Alpha, and volunteers from local churches collaborated to prepare these bags. Those who participated in the event included WMU director Kathy Smith, her husband Jerry Smith from Northside Baptist Church, and Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum. Kathy Smith expressed gratitude to the community for their support and emphasized that providing care to others is a calling to serve loved ones in need.

Kathy Smith highlighted that the charitable efforts of World Health Day were driven by a desire to spread God’s love and support to those in need. She emphasized that this work is not motivated by financial gain but by a sense of duty to care for others and share the message of God’s love. The event was a celebration of unity and compassion within the community, with volunteers dedicating their time and resources to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
