UNM Anderson School Sales Students Shine in RNMRKS International Competition, Highlighting Institution’s Focus on Talent Development”.

UNM Anderson students achieve top five placement in world’s largest sales competition, reports UNM Newsroom

Three UNM Anderson School sales students, Eddie Acosta, Andrew Salazar, and AJ Dille, stood out in the virtual RNMRKS international role-play sales competition held on April 10-11. The trio placed second, fourth, and fifth respectively in the competition, which saw participation from over 1,000 students from 47 universities worldwide.

The continued success of Anderson students in this competition highlights the depth of talent being cultivated at the institution. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of professors Dimitri Kapelianis and Wyatt to nurture their skills. “This success is a result of the hard work and dedication of our students,” said Associate Professor Kapelianis. “We are proud to see them excel in this competition.”

Participation in the RNMKRS competition provides students with real-time practice in essential selling steps such as introduction, discovery, presentation, objections and concerns, and closing. Through dynamic simulations leading up to the competition day, students hone their skills in a competitive environment. Acosta, Salazar and Dille collectively completed 400 simulations emphasizing the importance of active preparation and practice in achieving success in the competition.

The RNMKRS competition utilizes an app-based technology developed by selling professionals that features an artificially intelligent customer bot named Alex Taylor. This tool guides students through basic concepts and provides immediate feedback to help them improve their skills. Students attribute their success to the guidance received through the app as well as ongoing support and mentorship from professors Dimitri and Wyatt. “The app has been instrumental in my growth,” said Acosta. “It has helped me identify areas where I need improvement.”
