Unstoppable Longhorns Headed for Another Successful Season: CBS Sports Recognizes 5 Elite Talent on Top 100 List

Multiple Texas Longhorns Football Players Make CBS Sports Top 100 List

The Texas Longhorns are set to enter the 2024 season with high expectations, and it’s easy to see why. The team has an abundance of elite talent across their roster, especially at key positions such as quarterback, left tackle, defensive line, and edge rusher. Despite losing some key players to the NFL, the Longhorns still have one of the strongest rosters in the country, on par with teams like Ohio State, Georgia, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Oregon.

CBS Sports recently released their top 100 players in college football list, and five Longhorns made the cut. Left tackle Kelvin Banks led the Texas players at No. 10, followed by receiver Isaiah Bond at No. 14 and quarterback Quinn Ewers at No. 15. Ewers is considered one of the top returning quarterbacks in the nation and is expected to have a standout season in 2024.

Banks had a strong sophomore year and is on track to be a high draft pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. With only one sack allowed in 2023, Banks has proven himself as one of the best tackles in the country. Ewers has also shown tremendous growth in his game and is poised to lead the Longhorns to success as they transition to the SEC.

The Longhorns’ roster is stacked with talent, including running back CJ Baxter at No. 76 and edge rusher Trey Moore at No. 85. With such a deep pool of skilled players, Texas is primed for a successful season and is ready to compete with the best teams in college football.

In summary, Texas enters the upcoming season with high expectations due to their abundance of elite talent across their roster. CBS Sports recognized five Longhorns on their top 100 list – including left tackle Kelvin Banks – highlighting their strength as a team on par with other top-tier programs.
