The world premiere of Adam Guettel’s musical “Millions” is set to take place at Atlanta’s Alliance Theatre in the upcoming 2024-2025 season. The musical, based on the novel and film by Frank Cottrell Boyce, follows the story of two brothers who discover a duffel bag filled with cash while dealing with the loss of their mother. The production will feature a book by Bob Martin and music and lyrics by Adam Guettel.

The upcoming season at Alliance Theatre also includes several other world premieres, such as “Business Ideas” by Milo Cramer, “Bust” by Zora Howard (a co-production with Chicago’s Goodman Theatre), and “The Reservoir” by Jake Brasch (a co-production with Denver Center for the Performing Arts and Geffen Playhouse). These productions will be arranged in collaboration with Sonia Friedman Productions and Franco Productions.

In addition to these premieres, the upcoming season will also feature new stagings of Katori Hall’s “The Mountaintop” and Lloyd Suh’s “The Chinese Lady.” The full Theatre for Youth and Family season details can be found on the Alliance Theatre website at AllianceTheatre.org.

Performances for “Millions” are scheduled to run from May 10-June 15, 2025, under the direction of Tony-winning director Bartlett Sher. This new announcement marks an exciting addition to the already impressive lineup of productions at Alliance Theatre during the 2024-2025 season.
